[Infovis] Visualization of ML models/networks, etc..

I am interested in doing research  in these areas using data 
visualization to look at ML models and networks and looking for 
references (like surveys) and perhaps also use them in the Vis courses I 
regularly teach. Any references or pointers to such work I would be very 
interested in.  AI and ML seems to be all the hype these days, but I 
also have seen that it can be largely a black box and hence the interest 
in uncovering parts of it using visualization...
