Fully Funded PhD Positions in Virtual, Augmented, Mixed Reality (XR) +
Artificial Intelligence (AI)



The SAVE Lab at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites
applications
for PhD student positions focused advancing immersive virtual, augmented,
and mixed reality through convergence with artificial intelligence, machine
learning, and deep learning.  Here are some currently funded multi-disciplinary
projects:



   - Predicting attention in mobile augmented reality
   - Making virtual reality accessible for persons with balance impairments
   - Predicting and reducing cybersickness with deep learning
   - Immersive language learning via embodied conversational agents



Required Qualifications

   - Bachelor’s  or master’s degree in computer science or computer
   engineering prior to the first semester
   - Excellent software engineering skills with experience in Unity,
   Tensorflow, Pytorch, and or related software tools
   - Previous coursework or research experience in related areas: computer
   graphics, virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, artificial
   intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, deep
   learning, game development, human computer interaction, and/or 3D user
   interfaces (3DUI)
