Good day,

Are you interested in contributing to cutting edge research in visualization design? Then this email is for you!

We are conducting a study to understand how people find and use existing examples when creating their own visualizations, such as when creating new bar charts, geographic maps, infographics, and more. We are seeking out participants for a 60-minute interview study (no more than 2 hours). In the session, you will be asked a series of questions regarding your process for creating new visualizations. Interviews will be remote and you will be interviewed only once.

Participation is completely voluntary and the experience and data you share will be anonymous. After being anonymized, demographic data and answers to interview questions will be collected and shared as a resource for future academic research.

To participate in this study you must:
1) Be over the age of 18
2) Be an industry professional with at least 3 months experience designing and/or creating visualizations.
3) Currently reside in the US

You will be compensated with a $20 gift card for participating in this study. If you are interested, please complete this demographic survey https://umdsurvey.umd.edu/jfe/form/SV_diYGLGcJWzEv6wm <https://umdsurvey.umd.edu/jfe/form/SV_diYGLGcJWzEv6wm> or contact Hannah Bako at hbako at umd.edu <mailto:hbako at umd.edu>.

Thank you for your time.
