Are you interested in learning about some of the latest advances in data
analytics and data science? Are you excited about new opportunities to
practice your data visualization skills? Would you like to make a direct
contribution to state-of-the-art data science research? We would like to
invite you to participate in a University of Maryland research study on
data visualization tools.
We need participants for an approximately 60-minute study session online.
In this session, you will use a visualization tool to answer analysis
questions about a provided dataset and will be asked to complete surveys
regarding demographic information and your feedback on the analysis
environment. You will receive a *$10 Amazon gift card* as a thank you for
your participation.
Your participation will contribute directly to supporting current and
future data science research. Usage data during the session will be
recorded automatically, anonymized, and shared publicly as a community
resource. Personal demographic details and survey answers will be only
shared as aggregated results. Interaction logs and interview answers will
be shared after being anonymized. Note that any raw data from the user
study will be kept confidential, and will not be shared.
To participate in the study, you must be at least 18 years of age and meet
these criteria: (1) normal vision or corrected to normal with glasses or
contact lenses; (2) normal color vision and (3) have at least basic
visualization or data analysis experience, such as experience with one of
the following tools (or similar tools): Excel, R, SAS, Numpy/Pandas,
Tableau. Participation in the study is completely voluntary.
Please complete the following sign-up form if you are interested in
participating in this study. If you have any questions, please contact
Zehua Zeng by email at zzeng at cs.umd.edu. Note that we cannot ensure the
