[Infovis] Ph.D. position - Visualizations in cybersecurity practice

Dear all,

We are seeking to recruit a Ph.D. student for funded position in the cross-disciplinary topics of cybersecurity and visualizations in cybersecurity practice. The nearest deadline for the application is on the 26th of May with a start in September 2019. The students will be with the Faculty of Informatics, (https://www.fi.muni.cz/) and CSIRT-MU (https://csirt.muni.cz/) at Masaryk University, Czech Republic. 

Description:

Interactive visualizations can help in better understanding and handling of security incidents. The goal is to explore different ways to visualize and interact with knowledge extracted automatically from extensive heterogeneous datasets from the network monitoring tools. The student will be working within the team of cybersecurity researchers and practitioners. Since the underlying infrastructure for collecting the data already exists, the student will have immediate access to datasets and users. User evaluation sessions (workshops, interviews, tests) with the incident handlers will be part of the work, to validate the visualization design.
