[Infovis] Call for participation: VisREU Site for Undergraduate Research Experience in Visualization

Purdue University is accepting applications for participation in the REU Site: Research Experience for Undergraduates in Collaborative Data Visualization Applications for summer 2016. REU Site funded by NSF ACI Award 1359223.

About the Program: Interdisciplinary Research in Visualization, Paid Research Experience, $4K stipend for the summer (8 weeks), travel stipend to and from Purdue University. Each student is assigned to a REU Team with data visualization needs. This arrangement fosters collaboration among team members, an appreciation of the visualization process and an understanding of the role visualization plays in discovery and analysis. All majors, women and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Who should apply: Undergraduate students, enrolled in an undergraduate university/college; priority consideration will be given to members of underrepresented groups and students with limited research resources at their home institutions; however, all students (ALL Majors) with an interest in visualization are encouraged to apply. Must be an undergraduate enrolled in a U.S. Undergraduate Institution, with at least two semesters remaining in academic program, in good academic standing, with U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency; must be highly self-motivated, open to learning new skills and tools; must have an interest in visualization.
What majors will be considered: All academic majors are encouraged to apply.

We are now accepting applications for 2016 VisREU Summer Program and planning for another successful summer. All undergraduates with an interest in visualization are encouraged to apply at https://polytechnic.purdue.edu/viz/reu .

Application Materials include: Online application, unofficial transcript, letter of recommendation

Important Dates (for full consideration):
Online application must be received by 11:59 PM (EST) March 30, 2016
Unofficial transcript must be received by 6 PM (EST) March  31, 2016
Letter of recommendation must be received by 8 PM (EST) March 31, 2016
Application review will begin on April 1, 2016
