** Call for papers and participation

Organized as part of the 2013 International Information Visualisation Conference, the 10th International Conference on BioMedical Visualization (MediViz) is a
forum for the presentation of original papers in visualization theory and applications to biomedical and biomolecular data and processes. The symposium
covers all aspects of visualization and issues affecting interaction with large and complex data sets. We encourage the submission of papers covering new
techniques, old techniques applied in novel ways, new methods, interesting applications and in-depth surveys.

Peer-reviewed papers will be published in conference proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society, with ISBN number, and will be indexed by IEEE Xplore and other
major bibliographical search engines.

** Example application topics include, but are not limited to

- Nucleotide and protein sequence alignment and search
- Protein structure, function, sequence analysis
- Signaling pathways, biochemical networks
- Gene regulation, expression, identification and networks
- DNA, RNA structure, function, sequence analysis
- Biochemical and cellular simulations and models
- Structural, functional and comparative genomics
- Biomarkers
- Drug design
- Computer aided diagnosis
- Biomedical informatics
- Health informatics
- Electronic health records
- Epidemiology
- Clinical trials

** Examples of visualization topics as applied to the above include, but are not limited to:

- Interaction
- Human factors
- Data exploration
- Visualization and databases
- Graphs and networks
- Information retrieval
- Annotation and labeling
- Temporal data
- Visualization of predictive or uncertainty data
- Identification of correlated and anomalous relationships in disparate data sets
- Computer graphics and rendering for biomedical visualization
- Visual analytics
- Text and semantic visualizations
- Toolkits and systems
- Comparative Methods / User studies / Surveys

** Instructions for Authors

Reviewing is applied to all submitted papers. Authors are invited to upload full original papers to the conference online submission system by March 15, 2013.
Electronic submissions (PDF) are preferred and should be formatted according to the instructions for papers at http://www.graphicslink.co.uk/IV2013/PAPERS.htm.
The final manuscripts for full papers are expected to be no more than 6 pages - up to 4 excess pages may be purchased with the cost set by the publisher at
30GBP per page.

With the camera ready paper submission for publication, you agree to pay the registration fee (or reduced registration fee, if your registration form is
received on or before the early registration date) and published papers must be presented by at least one of the authors.
