Our research group at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center is looking for postdoctoral candidates with interest in the field of visual analytics. Our interdisciplinary research group is composed of researchers in visualization, data mining, and text analytics, while also working alongside medical scientists and bio-statisticians. More information about our group is located here: http://www.research.ibm.com/healthcare/ The Healthcare Transformation department at the IBM T J Watson Research Center is seeking a post-doctorate researcher to join a multi-disciplinary research group focusing on analytics for healthcare. The team consists of experts in visualization and data mining, as well as medical scientists. The ideal candidate should possess or be nearing completion of a doctorate in computer science, medical informatics or bio-statistics with a demonstrated interest in the use of visual analytics. In addition to being technically abreast of the literature and progress within the specific and related areas of expertise, the post-doctorate researcher is expected to generate highly novel ideas and be involved in their execution and implementation. He/she is expected to contribute significantly to the team in developing new analytics and interactive visual methods in preventive care, leveraging big data from longitudinal electronic medical records and patient controlled devices. The researcher should also have strong system design and development skills and should be able to deploy software services individually and as part of an extended team. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team across multiple geographies are also critical qualities sought for. The post-doctorate researcher is also expected to disseminate, externally and internally, the results of such activities through publications, patent disclosures, seminar participation, internal documentation, and represent IBM at professional meetings, in professional societies, and universities.
